I thought that these would make a good Christmas gift for my parents, who have a new home in the southwest which they are decorating accordingly. These coasters look pretty in the photo and Thirstystone is a good brand, so it seemed like an easy gift. I was so disappointed when I opened these up.First, the top coaster was very visibly scratched on the surface. I could not give this as a gift even if I liked the quality of the item, nor would I keep something for myself that arrived damaged.Second, the colors are not at all the way they appear in the photo. They are very flat and cheap looking. The red is not red at all. It is a dark rusty brown color. The the tan stripes are orange. There is no depth of color. I am returning these. I would not have bought them if they were at the dollar store either. They are definitely not worth some $27.

They are very functional and look great with our southwestern decor. We got them with the oak pedestal holder - a good match. The color is a little more muted than shown but still attractive. Would recommend as a gift as well.
