A word of warning: The pictures on the coasters are not nearly as clear and rich as the ad indicates. Rather, they appear somewhat faded.Thinking back, I remember wondering why the pictures were not bright and bold, as other brands were, when I used to see them on display in stores years ago. Perhaps less of a sandy mixture would have compromised their absorbability? They are still pretty, and very absorbable.And I am further reminded...I once bought a cheap set that were beautifully bright. When I set a glass of ice tea upon it, it would often stick to the bottom of my glass, only to drop off and hit the floor as I lifted the beverage to my lips! That certainly won't happen with this set. They are thick and heavy, as well as absorbant.
