I bought this as a gift which I have not yet given. But I've placed it in both a Mini Cooper & an Acura TSX, & it was very easy to get in & out of cupholders. It's 2.5" at the widest part, and easy to get fingers in the finger grooves to remove. We use another brand of ceramic coaster on our tables at home & they are quite absorbent, tho i put a plastic butter tub lid under each to prevent moisture from going thru to table (which only happened once after many hours of iced drinks sitting on it.

I bought this for a friend and she liked it so much that I had to order some for me too. It is definitely better than getting your cup holder all wet and nasty. Or having the tacky napkins stuffed in your cup holder to stop the condensation. I would recommend definitely.
