Let me start by saying that the coasters are exactly as described, but I wasn't prepared for just how big they are! I'm pleasantly surprised as they easily hold even the wide-bottom large convenience store cups with room to spare. There are a couple of minor annoyances, though. The screen printing on the stone makes it harder for the stone to soak up the condensation, and it also creates suction, so the coaster sticks to the bottom of the cup (only when there is a lot of condensation collected at the base of the cup). Normally it would only slightly annoy me, but I have a solid wood desk and even the cork bottom on the coaster doesn't protect my desk when the coaster drops off the bottom of the cup and gouges it. While my desk now has several small gouges, the coaster is pristine, so there's something to be said for the durability of these coasters. My peeves aside, these look really nice on a desk, and I've given a couple to others in the office who also love them.
